Slip sliding away

Mile 11 or so on the Boyden Lake loop with Andrew today. Notice the snow covered slushy road, the runner 'pretending' to run and the huge dump of snow about to fall down his neck and/or crush him.

Not feeling too bloggy tonite so just the bare essentials. 20 miles in 2:55 for avg pace of 8:45 and avg HR of 131 (higher than "A" for 1st time in recorded history). It was a nice run except for the poor road conditions which weren't too kind to my hamstrings. I almost bailed at the cars after 17 but gutted out the extra 3 at the end as the entire legs screamed for mercy.

Post run snacks of coffee and end-of-season chocolate balls were scrumptious. It's not a great picture but you get the idea.
Week 4 of 18 now begins and it looks like we're getting a welcome January thaw. Might even have to dig out the shorts again! Hope you all have a good week.

Great job on the run! I'm also looking forward to a warmer than normal week.

A good run. I'm just glad you didn't have any firecrackers to set off and make that snow fall on my head.

those roads suck! That's crap to run on w\out screw shoes.
Here's hoping some of this warmer weather melts that ice cap off your running routes. -be careful out there!

Yeah, the roads were not too pleasant today with the warmer temps.

Great job on the 20 miler! Will you be able to join Andrew in a couple of weeks when he comes to the winter running camp?

I'm not jealous of your weather but I am of the long runs you've been logging. Keep it up.

It looks like Andrew is skating! Those slippery conditions can wreak havoc on the hammies and groin muscles so be careful.
